Every Artists Life
A big part of the beginning curriculum of art school is spent in drawing class and those first assignments are almost always a still life, a drapery study, and drawing outdoor landscapes. While the abstract painters, potters, and sculptors gripped and moaned about these assignments, I reveled in them. To this day whenever my drawings are looking a little crappy, I will set up a still life or drape a sheet from a doorknob and draw all day long. From these drawings, I did design fabrics for apparel and upholstery, and a few worked well as home decor items. I hope you like them.
