The classy dresser gene skipped me: both my grandmothers and my mother were very stylish women who always looked fabulous. Then that genetic fashion gene jumped over me and landed on my daughter who can spot a fashion flaw (or genius) 2 blocks away. Lucky for me, though, is that I could sew better than all of them combined and I could draw any design. So one day I am pawing through my urban sketches and I thought why can't I find a fabric of windows and doors with a border of columns and cupolas instead of the usual florals, stripes, and plaids? Viola! Here is my newest collection called Architectural Attire which takes my urban sketches into apparel fabric. So you really can wear a window, or don a door. And this collection also includes some of my photos of girders, bridges and rock walls-all in a presentation for apparel. Quilting friends of mine do think the architectural images can work in more modern patchwork quilting and my favorite upholsterer thinks they would be super..just different. Take a look and let me know what you think!
